  • Eviction Prevention in the Community (EPIC) Worker
    The Corner Drop-In serves individuals who are low-income, socially isolated, homeless and hard to house. Our inter-disciplinary team provides resources, counseling and referrals that assist with long term solutions to individuals’ housing, health and financial needs. We specialize in mental health and harm reduction services.
    The position provides mobile, rapid eviction prevention services to vulnerable households across greater Toronto as referred by the City’s Central Referral Centre. The EPIC worker provides assessments, referrals, creates a client centered action plan and provides other supports as needed. In consultation with the EPIC team, the EPIC worker will liaise with landlords, coordinate mediation and conflict resolution as appropriate.
    If an eviction is prevented, the EPIC worker will provide short-term housing stabilization supports. In the event an eviction occurs, the EPIC worker will work with the Housing Help program to re-house and stabilize the clients in their new home. This position works as part of the Corner Drop-in inter-disciplinary team and works to provide an enriched drop-in service for homeless and socially isolated adults.

  • Human Resources Generalist
    The HR Generalist provides support to general department functions. This is a dynamic role whereby the incumbent is responsible for administering and supporting all major HR functions, including but not limited to Recruitment and Onboarding, Health & Safety, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Job Evaluation, data management, HRIS, and HR metrics. The Generalist will work closely with the other Generalists and will provide support to TNGCS program teams, providing the highest possible level of customer service. The HR Generalist will be actively involved in all activities related to the life cycle of TNGCS employees, including performance management, compensation and benefits, absence management, return to work (RTW), training, communication, etc. The incumbent is expected to foster a respectful and positive relationship with the Union and all staff, as a representative of the HR Department and of TNGCS’s Mission and Values, and to support TNGCS’s commitment to decent work, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

    The Team Lead–iPhare will work collaboratively with the Coordinator, Peer Program: Sheltering Sites Harm Reduction Services (iPhare), shelter-operators, and different agencies in order to establish and support peer-driven harm reduction initiatives at identified sheltering sites.     As a member of the UHHS department, this position provides direct case management supports to adults living in Covid-19 shelter recovery/isolation hotels as well as clients living in different shelter and respites around the GTA. This support will serve clients with a complete range of complex issues, including health, financial, housing, legal and life skills issues. Working from a harm reduction, trauma-informed perspective, case managers provide extensive, direct one-to-one support, on-site visits and telephone contact to assist participants in identifying and achieving self-determined goals. Working closely with the client and external service providers involved, the Case Manager liaises with and coordinates access to services including substance use and mental health supports, landlords, health care providers, legal institutions, income supports, housing providers and other community services.

  • Personal Support Worker – Supportive Housing - Part-Time Weekend - Contract
    Provide service to clients of the Supportive Housing Department, in client’s homes in a supportive housing, group home or community setting, according to individual care plans.     This position is responsible for promoting a professional public image to all those who visit the agency and to ensure the smooth functioning of daily reception activities at the Main House.   • Youth Justice Worker
    This position provides services to youth who have come into contact with the youth criminal justice system, providing intake, support, and the implementation of appropriate sanctions and measures, and the fulfilment of legislated reporting requirements. The worker will facilitate court sanctioned or mandated workshops, providing advocacy and/or court supports to youth/parents and supporting wider violence prevention initiatives. They will work within a dynamic team of youth justice workers to decrease violent crime among youth and support those youth at most risk of violence. The position delivers programs internally and within community-based settings that value youth leadership, youth empowerment and self-determined care and development.
