Cathy Hennessey

Cathy served for more than 30 years in the Federal Government, including as Senior Director General at Service Canada and Director General and Director, Human Resources, at Employment and Social Development Canada. She has also volunteered in private and not-for-profit organizations, leading quality and healthy workplace assessments.

Sonia Yung, Vice President - June 2017

Sonia YungSonia is a partner at Baker McKenzie and leads the firm’s Toronto corporate and securities law group. She has over 23 years of experience in capital markets transactions as well as public and private company and investment fund regulatory and corporate governance matters. Sonia also serves as a mentor to a number of associates and partners in the firm.

Frank Pagliarello, Treasurer – June 2016

Frank Pagliarello

Frank Pagliarello holds a CPA, CMA designation and is the Director, Operational Risk Audit within the Bank of Montreal. Frank joined Corporate Audit from BMO Capital Markets Finance where he progressed in various senior roles, most recently as Vice-President, Financial Governance and Compliance Officer, BMO Capital Markets Finance. He has over 12 years of experience in corporate governance, audit, compliance, financial and risk management. Frank previously worked for KPMG and several Federal Government departments and agencies.

Yogen Appalraju - June 2014

Yogen AppalrajuYogen is the Vice President, Security Solutions at TELUS and has over 20 years of experience in IT risk, security and regulatory compliance with Ernst & Young and KPMG. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and was a member of the standards committee within the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Alphonse Barikage - June 2015

Alphonse BarikageAlphonse worked for over 15 years for Ontario government's oversight organizations, including as an Ombudsman Representative at Ontario Ombudsman, a Mediator at the Ontario Human Rights Commission and the Information and Privacy Commissioner. He has volunteered as Vice-President and Director for Hope for Rwanda's Children Fund and is a long-time community mediator with St. Stephen's.

Katherine Chau – June 2016

Katherine ChauKatherine Chau practices employment law and civil litigation at Van Kralingen Law and completed a public interest internship with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Laos. She is an active member of the Human Resources Committee and grew up in our community.

Sarah Doyle - June 2015

Sarah Doyle

Sarah has a Masters in Science in International Relations and is a Senior Policy Advisor at MaRS. Previously, she worked with the Government of Canada – Privy Council Office, and Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Before joining the Board, Sarah volunteered as an active community member of the Program Committee.

Sarah Hurrle - June 2014

Sarah HurrleSarah has over ten years’ experience in the non-profit sector as a fundraising professional primarily raising funds for grassroots social services. Before working as a Senior Development Officer at York University, she worked for United Way Toronto and York regions. Sarah also serves on the Board Executive of her Toastmasters Club.

Peter Singh Khela – June 2016

Peter Singh KhelaPeter Singh Khela has a degree in Education and worked extensively for Health Care organizations, including Fred Victor Mission, Inner City Health Associate and the Parkdale Community Health Centre. He is currently the Director of Primary Health Care for the Rexdale Community Health Centre. Peter has served on our Advocacy Committee for three years.

Josh Kleiman - June 2019

Josh KleimanJosh is a Senior Manager at Accenture and brings over 15 years of experience in Technology Consulting. He works with both public and private sector clients across multiple industries to help them digitize their businesses and drive innovation utilizing common technologies to drive efficiencies. Josh is an avid public transit advocate and passionate about supporting the citizens in the city of Toronto.

Amana Manori

Amana has over fifteen years’ experience in the capital markets/financial services and is currently the CEO of Highness Global’s sister company, Highness Capital. She has been involved with fundraising and outreach for women’s health, prevention of women/children abuse, provision of basic necessities for families, and other anti-poverty initiatives.

Shannon Mccauley - June 2019

Shannon McCauleyShannon is a non-profit manager with 10 years of experience working within the Toronto non-profit and supportive housing sector. Currently, Shannon is the Senior Manager of Partnership Development at Community Food Centres Canada, a national organization dedicated to building health, belonging and social justice in low-income communities across Canada through the power of food.    

Rebecca Stulberg - June 2018

Rebecca StulbergRebecca is a lawyer and outreach manager at Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO) and the Director of Centennial College’s Legal Information Centre. Before joining CLEO, she worked in employment, labour and human rights law. Rebecca sat on the St. Stephens House Advocacy Committee for three years and volunteers with the Workers’ Action Centre and the Refugee Sponsorship Support Program.
