Together with COTA Health, The Neighbourhood Group will operate and provide support services at both the 11 Macey Avenue and 321 Dovercourt Road modular supportive housing developments for people experiencing homelessness.

Our combined experience and expertise helping vulnerable people in the city ensures the 100 people moving into the modular housing this fall will have the support they need to successfully transition from homelessness to their new homes.
We will provide 24-hour support at both sites, including:
Housing stability and eviction prevention
Personal recovery relating to mental health and substance use challenges
Establishing Personal Crisis Response Plans with each tenant and the offering of situational crisis supports
Assistance with medication reminder and safe storage
Harm reduction and relapse prevention counselling and supports
Support with daily living activities
Rent collection and arrears payment plans
Connections with community supports and other services such as:
Primary care healthcare
Volunteer and employment opportunities
Income assistance programs including Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program, Public Guardian and Trustee as well as banking services
Development of the modular housing sites is part of Toronto's HousingTO 2020-2030 Action Plan - to increase supply of affordable housing across the city. The 100 units in the Macey and Dovercourt developments are part of the goal to build 1000 units of supportive modular housing across the city. This initiative is an innovative and cost-effective way to build small-scale housing while providing a rapid, dignified response to connect people experiencing homelessness with homes and appropriate supports to help them achieve housing stability.
