Rainbow Connect helps LGBTQ+ newcomers meet in a safe, welcoming space to socialize and build personal and professional networks.
Group Sessions
These sessions help LGBTQ+ newcomers connect, find information and discuss topics related to their settlement, including employment and adjusting to the Canadian work environment, rights as LGBTQ+ newcomers, the refugee claim process and support, mental, physical and sexual health, and more.
When: weekly on Fridays, from 3 to 4.30 pm on Zoom
Who: LGBTQ+ newcomers (those who are in the refugee process, permanent residents and new Canadians)

One-on-one Sessions
One-on-one sessions provide LGBTQ+ newcomer settlement support (for refugee claimants, convention refugees, permanent residents and new Canadians). We provide client intake, needs assessment, settlement support and referrals to outside services as guided by the IRCC. These sessions take place via phone and Zoom with prior arrangement.
When: Thursdays from 10 am to 4 pm, Fridays from 10 am to 12 noon. On other days and times with prior arrangement.
