Venus

Part discussion group, part multimedia dynamo, Venus is our weekly young women’s group to discuss issues affecting young women. With an 18-year history, Venus has produced several successful multimedia projects in the past, such as zines, The Little Black Book for Girlz - a doctor-vetted book on healthy sexuality, short film documentaries and The Girls Survival Guide - the essential guide for young women entering high school. Venus focuses on gender equity, violence against women, healthy relationships and sexuality, self esteem and young women's community building.

The Gentlemen’s Spot

This is a weekly young men's mentoring and discussion group. Group members produced The Little Black Book for Guys to provide information, advice and resources for young men on issues relating to health and sexuality. The group provides a safe and supportive environment for young men to discuss issues that affect them, including racialized communities, anti-violence, racism, gender equity and criminal justice. At the end of each year, the group goes on a camping retreat that focuses on capacity building, mentoring and leadership training.
