On December 8, M.P.P. Tracy MacCharles, the Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues held a press conference at our Augusta Centre to announce funding for a public awareness campaign aimed at reducing violence against women.
Investing $836,500 over two years to support ten programs across Ontario, the government is reaching out to diverse communities by developing relevant materials and activities.
As part of the initiative, we partnered with COSTI Immigrant Services to create a new fotonovela that helps people identify the signs of abuse, and what actions can be taken to help.
Also attending were M.P.P. Han Dong and the Executive Director of COSTI, Mario Calla.
You can read the full press release or see the fotonovela.
