Last year, more than 1,500 young people aged 12 to 19 came to the United Way supported Youth Arcade. It’s a drop-in lunch time and after school program where young people decide on what to do to make their community better. It was a positive alternative to the streets for Lalo Lorza-Baker, 21, and where he honed his artistic talents. Now he’s a working artist. Lorza-Baker’s signature murals have become part of the landscape in Kensington Market. “If I didn’t have this place to come to, who knows where I’d be,” he said.
