Each year, we accept up to four co-op placement students from local universities, colleges and high schools. We provide a supportive environment for students to develop existing skills and learn valuable new ones. Our placement students help staff in the development and facilitation of programs while learning engagement strategies and program delivery techniques.
Peer Leaders
We hire five to ten youth peer leaders each year to assist staff in the implementation of programs and to work in the community. Our peer leaders are youth who have participated in our programs and who have shown exceptional leadership abilities. Building on the leadership potential of youth is a crucial aspect of our programs and by hiring peer leaders we encourage youth as they enhance their existing skills, build new ones and become more employable. Each group of peers is trained and oriented in team building, leadership and engagement - providing an excellent mentoring strategy for youth to develop leadership within their peer group.
